How to scan paper into a PDF with your phone

Tap Take photo, photograph the page, then add the next one. When all pages are in, check the order, choose a scanner look and press Create and download scan. You get one PDF with a page for each photo.

Taking a good scan photo

  • Lay the page flat on a plain dark surface in daylight or bright room light.
  • Hold the phone straight above the page and keep your shadow off the paper.
  • Fill the frame with the sheet and tap to focus before shooting.

Picking a look

  • Clean brightens the paper and darkens the writing. A good everyday choice.
  • Black and white makes crisp text and the smallest file, ideal for forms and notes. Photos and stamps lose their colour.
  • Original keeps colours as they are, for coloured documents.

Pictures already on your phone? Use Image to PDF. Crooked pages can be fixed with Rotate PDF, and a big result made smaller with Compress PDF.

Frequently asked questions

Is my scan uploaded anywhere?

No. Your photos are processed and turned into a PDF inside your browser. They never leave your device.

How do I scan a page?

Tap 'Take photo' on your phone. It opens the camera. Take a picture of the page, then add the next page. On a computer the button lets you choose picture files instead.

What do the scanner looks do?

'Original' keeps the photo as taken. 'Clean' makes paper whiter and text darker. 'Black and white' turns the page into crisp black text on white, which gives the smallest files and is best for printed or handwritten pages.

How can I get a sharp scan?

Put the page flat in good light, fill the camera frame with the sheet, and hold the phone straight above it so no shadow falls on the paper.

Can I scan an ID card front and back?

Yes. Scan the front, then the back, and keep the PDF private because it contains personal details.
