How this random number generator works
Enter the smallest and largest whole numbers you want, how many numbers to make, and press Generate. Each number is chosen from your browser's secure random generator, so every value in the range has exactly the same chance. Results appear instantly and can be copied or shared.
Unique numbers and no repeats
With Unique numbers only switched on, a number can appear once at most, just like pulling tickets out of a bag. That is ideal for raffles, lucky draws, picking quiz questions or choosing which students answer first. Without it, the same number may come up again, like rolling a die several times.
Ideas to try
- Class draw: roll numbers 1 to 45, ask for 5, keep Unique on.
- Guessing game: one friend picks a number from 1 to 20 and others guess it.
- Practice questions: pick 10 random questions from a book of 150.
- Fair turns: generate the order in which everyone plays.
For a coloured picker, use the spin the wheel, or roll the dice. Please do not use any random generator for real gambling.
Frequently asked questions
Are the numbers truly random?
They come from your browser's secure random generator, which is far better than a simple formula. Every number in your range has the same chance, and the last result never affects the next.
How do I draw winners without picking the same number twice?
Tick Unique numbers only. The tool then picks each number once, like drawing tickets from a bag. You can ask for at most as many numbers as there are in your range.
What is the biggest range I can use?
You can use whole numbers from -1,000,000,000 to 1,000,000,000 and ask for up to 200 numbers at a time.
Can I use it for a class raffle or roll-number draw?
Yes. Set the range to your roll numbers, for example 1 to 40, ask for 3 numbers and keep Unique on. Everyone has an equal chance.
Does it include decimals?
No, it gives whole numbers only. If you need a percentage or a decimal, divide the number yourself, for example generate 0 to 100 and divide by 100.
