How this click speed test works

Pick 5 or 10 seconds, then click or tap the big box. The timer starts with your first click and stops when time is up. Your CPS (clicks per second) is the number of clicks divided by the test length. After the test, tap the box again to retry.

CPS ratings

  • Under 4 CPS: relaxed. Good for a first try.
  • 4 to 7 CPS: typical for most people.
  • 7 to 10 CPS: fast. Regular gamers often land here.
  • Over 10 CPS: very fast. Check your wrist and take breaks.

Tips and safety

  • Rest your arm on the desk and keep your grip loose. Tension slows you down.
  • Do not overdo it. Stop if your hand, wrist or fingers hurt, and rest between tests.
  • For fair comparisons use the same device and the same test length.

Frequently asked questions

What is CPS?

CPS means clicks per second. It is your total number of clicks divided by the seconds in the test. If you click 60 times in 10 seconds, your CPS is 6.

What is a good CPS score?

Most people click 5 to 7 times per second. 8 to 10 CPS is fast. Scores above 12 usually need special techniques such as jitter or butterfly clicking, and not every mouse can register them.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes. Tap the box with one or two fingers. Phone taps are usually a bit faster than mouse clicks. Compare your phone scores with your own earlier phone scores.

Which test length should I use?

5 seconds shows your burst speed and 10 seconds shows how well you keep the pace. Your CPS is normally a little lower over 10 seconds because your hand gets tired.

Is my score saved?

Your best score for each test length is saved only in your browser on this device. Nothing is sent to any server.
